Rice Equity Holdings Announces Creation of TJ and Mia Rice Family Foundation to Expand Philanthropic Efforts Across 13 States

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Rice Equity Holdings today announced the creation of the TJ and Mia Rice Family Foundation, a philanthropic initiative dedicated to serving the communities where Rice Equity’s restaurant and health and wellness businesses operate across 13 states throughout the United States.

The foundation will serve as the charitable arm of Rice Equity Holdings, creating opportunities for employees, community partners, and local organizations to come together through meaningful service initiatives, philanthropic events, and community outreach programs.

“This foundation represents something very personal to me and my family,” said TJ Rice, Chief Executive Officer of Rice Equity Holdings. “Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to receive second and third chances that I know I did not always deserve. Those opportunities changed the direction of my life, and I believe strongly that we have a responsibility to create those same opportunities for others.”

Rice continued, “Success is not measured only by the number of restaurants we operate or the growth of our company. Success is measured by the impact we make on people. We want every community we touch to know that we are here, we care, and we are committed to making a difference.”

The TJ and Mia Rice Family Foundation will coordinate philanthropic efforts across the many communities served by Rice Equity Holdings, including initiatives focused on supporting first responders, children, families, and local organizations in need. The foundation’s initial commitments include providing hot meals to local first responders, organizing holiday toy drives benefiting local shelters and families in need, and hosting community-focused philanthropic events throughout the company’s operating regions.

As part of its long-term commitment to giving back, Rice Equity Holdings will dedicate a percentage of company gross revenue toward charitable initiatives selected by employees at the beginning of each year.
