Rice Equity Group Appoints Melkam Kifle as Vice President of Operations for Corner Bakery® Division Following Multi-State Acquisition

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rice Equity Group today announced the appointment of Melkam Kifle as Vice President of Operations – Corner Bakery Division, following the company’s recent acquisition of five Corner Bakery® restaurants spanning three states, including the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Kifle’s appointment marks an important step forward as Rice Equity Group expands its presence within the Corner Bakery brand and builds the operational foundation necessary to support future growth. In his new executive role, Kifle will oversee restaurant operations, team development, guest experience initiatives, and strategic growth opportunities across the newly acquired portfolio.

The acquisition represents Rice Equity Group’s entry into the Corner Bakery system and its commitment to partnering with an iconic brand that has built a strong reputation for quality food, hospitality, and community connection.
